How the Canvas connection works

MusicPal installs into Canvas as an LTI 1.3 app. Students and teachers open MusicPal from inside a Canvas course and are signed in automatically.

Canvas stays in charge of

  • Courses and sections
  • Enrolment and roles
  • Due dates
  • The gradebook

MusicPal stays in charge of

  • Scores and repertoire
  • Practice instructions
  • MIDI attempts and AI analysis
  • Teacher-reviewed feedback and audio review

A Canvas administrator has to approve and install MusicPal before any of this works for real. Everything you do in this wizard stays inside MusicPal.
